How to Convert Subtitle Files

Four steps to convert any subtitle or transcript format — no software, no upload, no account.

Step 1

Paste or drop the .vtt

Drop the transcript file from Teams, Zoom or any app that writes WebVTT, or paste its contents. The output is already set to PDF.

Step 2

Check the title and the options

The Title field becomes the heading and the file name. "Speaker names" and "Merge lines by speaker" appear when the file carries names; "Timestamps" runs from None to one mark per cue.

Step 3

Look at the preview

The result is shown as a page, the way the PDF will lay out: heading, a grey line with the length and the speakers, then one paragraph per turn with the name in bold.

Step 4

Download the PDF

Download saves "<title>.pdf". On a slow connection the first one can take a few seconds, and the button reads "Preparing PDF…" until it is ready. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Drop the .vtt on the page (or paste its text), set the output to PDF, check the title and click Download. The PDF is built in your browser and saved as "<title>.pdf". There is nothing to install and no account.

Yes. A Teams .vtt marks the speaker with a voice tag, and each turn becomes a paragraph that starts with the name in bold and a colon. A Zoom .vtt writes "Name:" at the start of each cue; when the file names at least two people that way, the name is read the same way and written once per turn in bold.

Latin, Cyrillic and Greek text, including accents, are drawn correctly. Text in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi or Thai cannot be shown in the PDF; the page says so under Download. Choose Word (.docx) for those files, which has no such limit.

A PDF is a fixed layout for sending or printing, not for editing. If you want to change the text or track changes, download the Word version of the same transcript.

Yes. Timestamps is set to None here. Switch it to Every cue for a grey [00:01:12] before each paragraph, or to every 15 seconds, 30 seconds or minute.

No. The conversion runs in your browser; the file is never sent or stored. Only if you click "Get the summary & action items" is the text sent, to write the notes. MeetWave doesn't store the text you paste. It is sent to our AI processing provider only to write your notes, isn't used to train models, and isn't kept by MeetWave after the answer arrives.

Yes. There is no account, no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the size or the number of files.
