Transcript to Action Items

Paste a meeting transcript or your notes, or drop the file from Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, and get the action items as a list: the task, who owns it and the due date when someone said one. Your first list is free with no account, for about an hour of speech, and comes with the summary and a follow-up email of the same meeting.

First run free, no account: up to 60,000 characters (~1 hour) · MeetWave doesn't store the text you paste. It is sent to our AI processing provider only to write your notes, isn't used to train models, and isn't kept by MeetWave after the answer arrives.

Want this without exporting files? MeetWave records the call itself — no bot.

Maya Ortiz: We still need the pricing page signed off before we announce.

Daniel Kim: Legal can review it by Thursday if I send it today.

Maya Ortiz: Great. Sam, can you get the customer emails drafted?

Sam Patel: Sure, I'll have a draft by Monday. Someone should update the FAQ too.

A task nobody took stays in the list without an owner, so it is not lost.

How It Works

Step 1

Paste the transcript or drop the file

A Zoom .vtt, a Teams or Google Docs .docx, a .txt or .md, or notes you typed during the call. Subtitle timestamps are removed in your browser before the text is sent.

Step 2

Extract the action items

The notes are written on screen in a few seconds: task, owner and due date where the meeting named one. Tasks without an owner are kept and marked.

Step 3

Copy it or track it

Copy the list into an email or your task tool. To assign and tick tasks off, the free action items tracker on this site has the same columns.

Step 4

Keep the rest of the notes

The same run writes the summary, the decisions and a follow-up email. Save the meeting to a free account to keep them with your next meetings.

Why Use It

  • Owners and due dates taken from what people actually said
  • Tasks without an owner kept and marked, not silently dropped
  • Reads Zoom, Teams and Google Meet transcripts as they come
  • The whole list copied as text in one click
  • First list free with no account, for about an hour of speech

Frequently Asked Questions

Paste the transcript above or drop the file, and click Extract action items. Each commitment in the conversation becomes a line with the task, the person who took it and the date if one was said. Copy the list into an email or your task tool.

Your first run is free with no account, for a transcript of up to 60,000 characters (about an hour): the action items, with the summary and follow-up email of the same meeting. For the next one, sign in — new accounts get 14 days of Pro, which includes this tool.

It stays in the list without an owner. "Someone should update the FAQ" is a real task that usually gets lost; listing it unowned is what lets you assign it.

Yes. Notes typed during the meeting work as well as a transcript, as long as they say what was agreed — "Anna: draft the announcement by Friday" is enough for a task with an owner and a date.

A file is read in your browser, and only its text is sent — never the file or its name. MeetWave doesn't store the text you paste. It is sent to our AI processing provider only to write your notes, isn't used to train models, and isn't kept by MeetWave after the answer arrives.

The action items template is a tracker you fill in by hand: tasks, owners, due dates and status. This page writes the list for you from the transcript. To keep working on the tasks, open the tracker — its AI tab extracts the same list straight into it.
