Store Replatform Feed and Testing

The November 9 launch remains in place for now, but the feed schedule leaves testing beyond launch.

  • Kofi confirms the feed date by October 9.
  • Nate writes up the two-week test cuts by October 12.
  • The October 22 feed case leaves four days before freeze for testing.
  • Dmitri’s on-call handoff depends on Sam and his manager agreeing.

Demo meeting, people are fictional

Launch remains November 9, but the stock-feed date puts integration testing past launch even on the current best case; a confirmed feed date is due Friday. The team will report green to Gwen on Thursday, prepare a reduced-test-scope proposal, and revisit status if the feed date is October 22.

Decisions

  • ✅ Keep the November 9 launch date for now — the team has not moved it; the schedule still depends on the confirmed feed date and testing plan.
  • ✅ Report green to Gwen on Thursday, October 8 — the project lead will change the status to amber if Kofi confirms the feed will land October 22.
  • 🟡 Explore compressing integration testing to two weeks — conditional on Nate’s October 12 write-up showing what would be cut; returns flows and half the store-pickup cases would be dropped.

Easy to miss

  • Thursday’s green status precedes Friday’s confirmed feed date — the best-case feed date already puts testing one day beyond launch, and Nate says there is no fitting test plan yet; the project lead should update Gwen when Kofi confirms the date.
  • The October 22 feed date leaves only four days before the November 16 freeze for testing — three weeks of testing would finish November 12; the team needs to resolve the test scope against that window.
  • The on-call handoff is not secured — Dmitri can ask Sam, but Sam’s manager must also agree; Dmitri will ask Sam today and aims to hand off by October 9.

  • Blocked: Dmitri’s on-call handoff — Sam’s and his manager’s agreement.

Risks and open questions

  • 🔴 Dmitri is at about 140% capacity across the replatform build, old-site on-call through October 18, and warehouse mapping; the team is pursuing an on-call handoff, but it is not confirmed.
  • 🔴 Warehouse mapping depends on Dmitri’s knowledge of the old stock sync; Kofi’s team has no other person with that knowledge.
  • ❓ What is the renewal cost from February? — determines the license cost — the project lead is chasing Tom.

Facts to keep

  • Kofi found that Reno and Columbus warehouse location codes do not match the ERP codes; the warehouse mapping must be rebuilt before the feed can report stock by location.
  • Kofi expects the feed on October 20, or possibly October 22 if Columbus codes are as messy as expected; he will know after checking by October 9.
  • Integration testing takes three weeks once the feed is available: an October 20 feed points to November 10 completion; an October 22 feed points to November 12.
  • The project freeze starts November 16; launch is November 9.
  • Compressing testing to two weeks would drop returns flows and half the store-pickup cases, which failed on the old site last Christmas.
  • 3,900 of 4,200 product pages are moved; outerwear is complete and camping is in progress. The remaining content is on track for October 16.
  • The holiday campaign and gift guide exist only on the new site. If launch moves past the freeze, marketing must rebuild them on the old site and needs at least four weeks’ notice.
  • $231,000 of $480,000 has been spent; the project lead says the budget is on plan. Kofi’s team’s mapping time is charged to the ERP budget, not this budget.
  • Gateway sandbox tests finished October 5; all passed.
